Keeping At It

So it's July!

I didn't speak to you in April, May or June. Wow! Sorry about that. Needless to say, I was busy. The day job has been pushing pushing pushing, and there have been all these deadlines with various contests, festivals and such. And there's so much to see!

But rather than do a retrospective of the flurry of activity I was into over the last few months, let me share a quick bit about what's coming up.

The Seeing is Believing Cycle - Open Forum
Seeing is Believing, but what I see is not what I want to believe....That's one of the opening lines in It Goes Unsaid, one of my most successful theater projects.

We are taking It Goes Unsaid's development as a model to work on an entirely new work. The first step with It Goes Unsaid was a conversation, and the first step for this work will be the same. But instead of a private dialogue, we are planning an open forum, inviting the public to participate in the foundation of a new work. More on that very soon...

The Lattice Crashes - That's right. I did get a grant for this. A workshop production is coming your way in the late summer/fall. I am very excited about this one, as I've been working hard to mount this piece as more than a staged reading.

The Fire This Time Year 2 - That's right the Festival that brought you Citizen Jane is coming back. I'm involved as a Producer of Year 2 and participating Playwright. (I get one night all to myself.) We've just approached a new roster of playwrights and will be announcing public events in the coming months.

And that's not even getting into all the other projects I've got in the mix. From my spec scripts for It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and True Blood, to my side grant-writing gigs in the arts, my plate is full full full! But not too full to keep me from sharing with you.

Happy Fourth of July!
